The Head Master has thought that a “Games Committee” ought to be formed to regulate expenses & especially Mantle’s bill.
The following rules were determined –
- The Cost of all School Games shall be defrayed from a General Fund, raised by a charge to all boys in the Third & Fourth Forms of £1.1s a year, & to all in higher Forms £1.10s a year.
Boys going to water shall pay 10s more & If in the eight £1 more.
Boys in the Football Eleven shall pay 10s more.
Boys in the Cricket Eleven shall bear their own expenses, but £11 shall be given from the Fund towards Bowling, which must be a separate charge.
There shall be an inclusive rate of entrance for all competitions in the Athletic Sports viz. 1s for Third & Forth Forms & 2s for others.
- All expenditure shall be managed by a Committee, whose members shall be –
- Two junior Masters named by the Head Master from time to time.
- The Captain of the Q.S.S., the Head Town Boy & the Head Boys of Water, Cricket & Football. If any of these hold more than one of the above offices, another member or members shall be chosen by the Committee to make up the member to seven.
- No increase or new item of expenditure shall be incurred without express permission of the Head Master previously obtained.
The chief object of the committee was to overlook & pay Mantle’s bills weekly instead of at the end of each Term.
