An attempt was, this year, made but in vain, to revive the Sixth dinner; which however, it is to be hoped, the form will find spirit enough to carry into executing at some future period.

The Annual Cricket Match between the Town Boys and King’s Scholars took place this year (1825) on Tuesday August 2nd when the latter were beat by 10 wickets. The Town Boys in their first Innings got 69 the King’s Scholars 50 and 19 in the second. The following were the players

The dinner was this year not supplied by Mrs Lick as usual, but by Mr Henty of Bridge St. by whom everything was served up in the best order. Goodenough tried to have the dinner between the Innings but however he allowed it to be at the customary time not wishing to alter the old rule.

Doctor Goodenough made a rule that Bible exercise should be in future set on Friday Evening instead of Saturday morning as formerly.

In order that the fellows might bathe without losing their clothes and being otherwise molested as formerly a piece of canvass 30 yds long and 6 or 7 high was this year (1825) put up at Milbank at Dr. Goodenough’s expense.

It having been the intention of the Town boys to row up to Eton and back again in 18 hours an 8 oared practised for it, when Dr Goodenough two days before that (24th June 1825) appointed for the expedition forbade any attempt of the kind. The following were the rowers
