An exeat was given this term from Friday afternoon to Tuesday morning. We got no half on Shrove Tuesday or on Ash Wednesday in consequence. Sir Williams Watkin Wynn, the new Dean of Gloucester, Cannon Spence, who is an Old Westminster, came down on the Friday. Prayers had already been held, as the masters thought Rutherford was not coming up School. But we had to come in & have them over again. Sir Williams Watkin Wynn gave a guinea to the Welsh chaps afterwards as usual.
