In the matches for the Football Shield Rigaud’s, as was expected, was finally victorious. Grant’s beat Home Boarders & on the following Thursday met Rigaud’s. A very sharp game resulted in draw (1-1), though Rigaud’s had a very strong XI. On Thursday March 20 the two houses again met, Grant’s having trained vigorously during the previous week. During the first half time a run & shot by Pigott on behalf of Grant’s & by Hurst for Rigaud’s were both foiled by the respective goal-keepers. After half-time Petrocochino scored for Rigaud’s the only goal in the match.

A new feature of the season were the Junior House Matches, played in the Xmas term – Grants’ beat Home-boarders (4-0) (Pryce (2), Salwey & Kaye). College beat Rigaud’s, after a draw, (2-2), beat College (2-1). (Rigaud’s Hammond 1, Probyn 1. College Symms 1).
