No. 466

It must here be recorded that Christmas 1880 witnessed the retirement of the Reverend H.M. Ingram from the position of Undermaster which he has filled most successfully since 1861. T.BB unless in the Under-School has but little to do with him – I myself hardly exchanged a hundred words with him during my existence at Westminster – but all who acquired any acquaintance with him have been unanimous in their praise – a longer panegyric would here be out of place but the loud applause with which a laudatory allusion to him in the Prologue was received on the last two Play-nights shows that it would fully have been deserved.
