Many spirited endeavours were made to get up boat races this term which had not great success, although more boats were on the water this half, than had been for some time since. The second eight & six continued to row steadily through the whole term and numerous light fours existed also. The boys in the shell got up a good pair oar race of four boats, which took place as follows. The boats were

2. Williams Q.S.

1. Bennett Q.S.
2. Upperton Q.S.

They started from Battersea Bridge, and threw up their oars at Vauxhall bridge. No. 1 came in first by three boats lengths 3. Second 2. Third 4. Fourth. The town boys again beats Q.S.
