The ties for the Woodens this term resulted as follows: First round: T. W. Wheeler beat A. G. Prothero, F. J. Prothero beat H. Druitt, Barwell & Veitch bye, Stirling & Petrochino scratched. Second round: Wheeler beat Barwell, Prothero a bye. Veitch scratched. In the final Wheeler beat Prothero, the scores being 10-11, 11-16, 15-9.

The Racquet Ties were played as usual but the “Woodens” were not ended till the beginning of this (the Summer) term, owning to the illness of Smyth, one of the players. The “Wooden” and the “Wire” were both carried off by T.B.B this year, the former by R.P. McKeand (Grant’s) and the latter by C. Fox (Rigaud’s). There was some exciting play between Otter (QS) & McKeand for the Wooden & between G.M. Hill (QS) & Fox for the Wire.
