The Coronation Sept. 8th 1831
At this Coronation as at the last seats were assigned to the whole School Townboys as well as King-Scholars to witness the ceremony. Those allotted to us were separate from the KS and close to the Peers seats in the south transept; in full view of the thrones though not of the alter. We took our seats about ½ past 7 in the morning: the ceremony concluded about 4 o’clock. Leave was given for the sixth and shell to go out from 8 to 10 in the evening to see the fireworks and illuminations.
