No. 291

The commemoration service took place on Thursday, Nov 17. The psalms went better than formerly. There was again no sermon. There was, as usual, a reception up school after service. The proceedings this year were enlivened by an innovation in the shape of songs by some boys of the abbey choir up school. As a consequence of this, the boys of the choir were allowed to partake of the refreshments provided in the library, to which I believe they did full justice (though whether it was equally just to the other people present is quite another matter) there was a large number present, but I scarcely saw anyone whom I knew to be an oxford O.W.
