I may have given an account of the alterations up School.
The walls of the school room are pavelled with oak to about a quarter of their height, the names written above being kept as they were. The floor is formed of blocks of wood, on the same principle as the wood pavement in the streets. At the further end of the room the floor is raised about six inches and an oak screen projects over Rutherfords chair. In the raised part sit the “Town Council” radiating on each side of Rutherford according to position. The whole body sit in a crescent facing the rest of the school. The “Shell” has been refitted and has a new door to match the pavelling in the big school-room. The gas jets in the latter are black in colour with brass fittings.
