The VI Class-room was chang-ed from the old library ‘up school’ to a new room built at the bottom of the schoolroom and fitted up with separate desks for each fellow; on the model of S. Pauls!!
On the departure of Revd B.F. James who for so long had been one of the most patriotic masters in the school, Mr Marlove accepted the offer of Rigauds which was had been refused by Mr Dale. He was at the same time promoted to the shell, not as a fellow for which he was incapable, but as a master.
No. 1 Big Dean’s Yard was given up at the beginning of the term, and Homeboarders and Dales’ amalgamated under the charge of Mr Fox. Mr Dale took No. 26 Dean’s Yard formerly occupied by Mr Marklowe.
Library was arranged to be open for Half & Home-Boarders from 2.15 to 3.15 by way of dishing ‘footer’ & cricket.
We were sorry to see on our return this term the atrocious vandalism which had been perpetrated in the removal of the ‘under School’ & ‘under Fourth’ Horseshoes.
