The Swimming Cup, which was anonymously given in 1875, and has not been competed for since 1876, when it was won by R.F. Macmillan, TB, was once more contested for on the last day of term at Charing Cross Baths *, August 3rd. There were eleven entries, and the swimming took place in two heats. The course was 4 times across the baths. The first heat was won by Whiston with Morrison second. The second by Scoones, Squire second. The final took place in the evening, when Whiston, Morrison and Scoones alone competed. Whiston went off with the lead, but Scoones picked him up all the way, and after a good race the former just beat his smaller antagonist by half a stroke.
