Shrove Tuesday was a most eventful day for the “College Cook”. Mon QS having brought up the hour the fellows proceeded to get places for the “Grease”. The cook came threw & missed. Then from the fellows’ hands books went, nor did they miss. The cook in a rage threw his pan into the crowd…

To account for the absence of the “Harrow” & Eton matches, this year, I must record that Scott would not allow the fellows in the “Play” to play football after a certain day – before which day it was impossible to play them.

The T. B. & QS. match- Came off in the Play Half this year & resulted after an exciting game in favour of the QS. Harrison having taken a long shot, was aided by a tremendous wind and managed to send the ball just below the string. J F Lucas               Prin. Opp.

The Charterhouse Football Match was decided in favour of Westminster two goals to one. Westminster had the strongest team by far: but Charterhouse having placed 3 men in goals it was almost impossible to obtain one. J F Lucas               Prin. Opp.

The Athletics Sports came off on Thursday & Friday Oct 17 & 28. The weather was on the whole “propitious” but the “Ground” bad. The running excelled former years, as did also the jumping – in which Giles QS. cleared 5ft 6” & in the Pole jump Harrison QS. 8ft 8in, the “Long” Account will…
