In consequence of the TB & QS boats being continually annoyed by scis throwing stones from the shore – a policeman was set to watch where upon some of the offenders were taken before the magistrates & punished. It is to be hoped that the boats for the future will be free from further annoyance…

An upper shell boy (Whitaker) having challenged a sixth form boy (Evered) to row him a sculling match, in fun, the race came off in earnest on Monday April 28th. The Match for the sculls came off as usual this year. The candidates were Barnes Q.S. Wright T.B. Cook Q.S. Horne Q.S. Marryat Q.S. The race (in which Barnes was upset) was easily won by Wright making this the third year that the sculls have been won by Town Boys.
