“The Athletic Sports” The first day was wet and the ground spongy. The second day was better. The Town boys were very successful taking nearly all the prizes. The took place on Nov 7th & 8th which everyone agreed was much too late. Lady Augusta Stanley gave the Mile Prize. S F Lucas Prin. Opp.

The Town boys won the TB & QS Cricket Match by in one innings, and a few runs – The dinner was in the middle of the day and not after the match as we were obliged to finish it on that day. S F Lucas Prin. Opp.

The Wooden and Wire racquets were both won by Harrison, but of course he could only take one, as he chose the Wooden. Williams took the Wire. J F Lucas Prin. Opp.
Shrove Tuesday was a most eventful day for the “College Cook”. Mon QS having brought up the hour the fellows proceeded to get places for the “Grease”. The cook came threw & missed. Then from the fellows’ hands books went, nor did they miss. The cook in a rage threw his pan into the crowd…
To account for the absence of the “Harrow” & Eton matches, this year, I must record that Scott would not allow the fellows in the “Play” to play football after a certain day – before which day it was impossible to play them.
