It is only fair to say that we had extremely hard luck. Page our captain put his knee out just before half time (he had not been able to play for a fortnight before) and Cox followed his example a few moments later. H.B. Allen was forbidden by his doctor to play at all, and he incapacitated himself for the rest of the season.
