New Fives courts have been opened this term, thanks chiefly to the kindness of Walter Phillimore. The following rules have made by the Games committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. No person shall play on the Fives courts without rubber soled shoes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. The only game to be played on the courts is Fives & no racquets are to be used.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. The court nearest H. B. B. will be called no. 1 & the other no. 2.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. No. 1 will be reserved for Grants & Home Boarders on alternate days as follows.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    H. B. B. — Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Grants — Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    No. 2 will be reserved to College & Rigauds on alternate days as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Rigauds — Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    College —Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    5. The courts will change hands alternately i.e. no. 1 will change hands every term i.e. next term will be<\/s> no. 1 will be reserved for College & Rigauds alternately; & no. 2 for Grants & Rigauds<\/s> H. B. B. Alternately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    6. If a \u201creserved\u201d court is unoccupied fellows belonging to other houses may use it, but they must give it up when required to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    7. The heads of Houses will make all other rules needed for their own Houses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In accordance with rule 7 the following rules have been made by Probyn for Rigauds. The rules of the other Houses are very nearly the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. All general rules made by the Games committee must be observed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. There must be no humbugging on the courts. The game & nothing else must be played.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Four can turn off two provided the pair are not in the VIth of shell.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. \u201cPinks\u201d can always turn off.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Any infraction of these rules is a monitorial offence & punishable by tanning.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
