Subsequently a deputation consisting of H. Withars Q.S., C. Bompas T.B., L. James Q.S. &amp; Jarvis T.B., went down one Wednesday afternoon &amp; were shown over the parish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We were shown into an Opium Den &amp; several mission rooms; we walked about for some time near the docks, coming across about the choicest selection of stinks that it has ever been my lot to fall in with, &amp; were finally treated to tea at which a bear\u2019s ham figured as the piece de resistance.
