    No. 2.<\/u> Half mile with Hurdles at the end \u2013 Open \u2013 Challenge cup. 1. Forster. 2. Bury. 3. Stephenson. Time 2. 28 1\/2 . A good race, won by a foot.<\/p>\n

    No. 3.<\/u> Long Jump \u2013 under 15. 1. Armitage. 2. Sutherland. Distance 13ft 5in.<\/p>\n

    No. 4.<\/u> 150 yds \u2013 under 13. 1. Phillimore. 2. Jervis. 3. Ritchie. Time 20 7\/8 secs.<\/p>\n

    No. 5.<\/u> Final Heat of Hurdle Race. (vid supra).<\/p>\n

    No. 6.<\/u> 440 yds. \u2013 under 15. \u2013 Challenge Cup. 1. Sutherland. 2. Thorne. 3. Ritchie. Time 65 (W.O.)<\/p>\n

    No. 7.<\/u> Flat Race. \u2013 100 yds. \u2013 Open \u2013 Challenge Cup. 1. Squire. 2. Jeffcock. 3. Eden. Time 10 7\/8 secs. This was a most splendid Race \u2013 First resulted in a dead heat between Squire & Jeffcock. When it was run off, Jeffcock got the best start, but Squire picked him up all<\/p>\n

    the way, and finally won by a foot.<\/p>\n

    No. 8.<\/u> Pole Jump. \u2013 open \u2013 1. Brandan. 2. Coke. Height 8ft 6 \u00bd in.<\/p>\n

    No. 9.<\/u> Hurdle Race \u2013 100 yds \u2013 8 flights \u2013 under 15. 1. Sutherland. 2. Armitage. 3. Winstanley.<\/p>\n

    No. 10.<\/u> 440 yds. \u2013 open \u2013 Challenge Cup. Time 59 \u00bd secs. 1. Jeffcock. 2. Eden. 3. Forster. This race was a walk over for Jeffcock who won as he liked by about 30 yds. Squire who could not enter as being the winner of the 100 yds, beat this time when running the first quarter of the mile by \u00bc sec.<\/p>\n

    No. 11.<\/u> Old Westminsters\u2019 Race. 1. Leggatt. 2. Beverley.<\/p>\n

    No. 12.<\/u> Two Mile Handicap \u2013 Bicycle Race. Time 9 min. 41 sec. 1. Bird (Scratch). 2. Brandon (ditto). (3. Forster (20 yds). Bird who had the lead from all the field, rode hard from start to finish, and won finally by 100 yds.<\/p>\n

    No. 13.<\/u> Consolation Race. 300 yds. \u2013 Winners excluded. 1. Bain. 2. Frere. 3. Morison. Time 37 1\/2.<\/p>\n

    No. 14.<\/u> Tug of War. Twelve Q.S.S. v. twelve T.B.B. The T.B.B. won easily pulling over their antagonists twice in succession. \u2013 This has now been started 3 years, and the T.B.B. have invariably won.<\/p>\n

    N.B. It will be seen from the above account that the Bicycle race which was dropped last year, was revised in this year\u2019s programme. The half-mile Handicap however was retained.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
