We got leave from Scott in the beginning of this term &amp; the society is now, I hope, well founded. After <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">three<\/span> 4 debates, under the presidency of Lowry (captain) &amp; Cuppage, a rule was passed to appoint the officers of the Society for a term instead of three weeks as had been originally ruled. Accordingly they were appointed as follows<\/p>\n<p>President \u2013 H. Lowry (Captain of the school)<\/p>\n<p>Vice President \u2013 W.A. Peck (a 3<sup>rd<\/sup> election)<\/p>\n<p>Secretary \u2013 W.G. Bell (head town boy)<\/p>\n<p>Treasurer \u2013 E.P. Guest (2<sup>nd<\/sup> monitor)<\/p>\n<p>The original officers were these, with the exception of Peck, who took the place of E.M. Eddis (head monitor).
