The committee was \u2013<\/p>\n<p>E.H. Alington (Ex officio)<\/p>\n<p>L.S. Bristowe\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Treas (Ex officio)<\/p>\n<p>E. Waddington<\/p>\n<p>F.D. Crowdy<\/p>\n<p>W.C. Acton<\/p>\n<p>A.N. Jackson<\/p>\n<p>H.C. Frere\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hon. Sec.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The mile was won by Hamilton, a new fellow, C. Macnamara 2, Alington 3, Bolton 4. Time 5.50. Owing to a stupid mistake in the measurement the course was 176 yards too long, 44 yds for each quarter, thus accounting for the badness of the time.<\/p>\n<p>The Long Jump Open was won by Waddington, C. Fox being 2<sup>nd<\/sup> \u2013 distance 17ft 3in.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><u>Hurdles \u2013 100 yds open<\/u><\/p>\n<p>This race was run in heats-<\/p>\n<p>1<sup>st<\/sup> heat \u2013 C. Fox 1. Watson 2. Secretan 3.<\/p>\n<p>2<sup>nd<\/sup> heat \u2013 Alington 1. Williams 2. Frere 3.<\/p>\n<p>3<sup>rd<\/sup> heat \u2013 Waddington 1. Crowdy 3. Aston 3.<\/p>\n<p>Final \u2013 Waddington 1. Allington 2. Watson 3.<\/p>\n<p>Time 16 \u00bc secs.<\/p>\n<p><u>Long Jump \u2013 Open <\/u>[Likely intended to read \u2018High Jump \u2013 Open\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Owing to the state of the ground only 6 competed for this \u2013 but the jumping was good nevertheless.<\/p>\n<p>Crowdy 1. Gamble 2. Alington 3.<\/p>\n<p>Height 5ft.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Hammer Open was won by Waddington who threw a distance of 72ft 6 ins.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><u>Half-mile Hurdles<\/u><\/p>\n<p>This race was won easily for the third time by Alington \u2013 Waddington was 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and Crowdy 3<sup>rd<\/sup>. Williams unfortunately touched the first hurdle with his hands and was accordingly disqualified. Time 2.29 min.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><u>100 yds \u2013 Open<\/u><\/p>\n<p>This race was won by E.R. Frere, a Town-Boy, although Macnamara had been considered sure of it \u2013 The time, 11 secs, was very good considering the abominable state of the ground.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><u>Pole Jump \u2013 Open<\/u><\/p>\n<p>For this there were only two competitors \u2013 Waddington and Alington \u2013 the first of whom won after clearing 8ft 5ins \u2013 on a better day he would have probable have done 9ft.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><u>440 yds \u2013 Open<\/u><\/p>\n<p>This, as was expected, was won easily by Waddington, Mcnamara being 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and Alington third. Time 60 secs.<\/p>\n<p>Consolation Race was won by Black 1, Needham 3, Dawson 3. Time 40 secs.<\/p>\n<p>The Old Westminster Race was won by Harrison, as last year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The weather on the first day was fairly good, on the second day it began to drizzle about 10 o\u2019clock and continued all day.<\/p>\n<p>The prizes were given away up school by Mrs Scott, having been previously taken up Fields for inspection. The Head Master returned thanks as usual. Cheers were given for Old Westminsters. Boys returned thanks &amp; called for three chairs for the ladies \u2013 on behalf of who Mrs Randolph returned thanks &#8211; and the meeting dispersed, non the worse apparently for standing about up fields in the rain.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">L.S.
