Two yearly prizes have been founded in memory of the late Second Mathematical Master, C.H.H. Cheyne, Esq. They are to be given every election to whoever small have got most marks in the Arithmetic Examinations of the past year, to be confined to boys under 16.

Football The Charterhouse match was lost this year by 2 goals to 0. Our fellows were at rather a disadvantage owing their having to play with a much smaller ball than they are accustomed to, which puzzled our backs very much. The Ireland verse prize was not given, the Dean’s Greek Testament prize was on by J.A. Turner and W.C. Aston. (1877) The Gumbleton English verse prize was won by C. B. Vyvyan, A. R. Smith was second but no prize was given.
